Nau mai, Haere mai. Welcome.

Proudly Māori-owned and operated, our beautiful old-style Kauri Villa majestically sits on a rise watching the tides of the Hokianga Harbour ebb and flow. Originally built in Kaiwaka in 1871, she was moved in 1979 to Horeke, which is the oldest settlement in the Hokianga and the second oldest settlement in New Zealand. This place is steeped in history with rich stories of our people and place.

Hokianga is a wonderful place to explore.  Art Galleries exhibiting local established and emerging artists, cafes that offer

a wonderful repast, museums and historic places, a car ferry ride to Kohukohu and the other side of the harbour, and

the new Manea Footprints of Kupe Cultural Centre located in Opononi, are just a few of the attractions nearby.

Alternatively, why not travel to Waitangi to see the great Ngātokimatawhaorua Waka and explore the Treaty Grounds? Then catch the ferry to Russell for lunch and top it off with a stroll to Te Maiki Hill to see the historic flag pole, or walk around the point on your return to Paihia, or do both. The north is a wonderful place to explore, so come and stay a while.

Within an easy 30-minute drive are the towns of Kaikohe, Rawene, Okaihau and Kerikeri.
